Visits WIA in Sulu
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte checked on the condition of the thirteen (13) wounded-in-action (WIA) soldiers and gave his condolences to the families of four (4) soldiers who were killed-in-action (KIA) during his visit at the Camp Teodulfo Bautista Station Hospital in Jolo, Sulu.
The President awarded a check worth PhP 20,000 and a special assistance check worth PhP 250,000 to each of the families of the four slain soldiers. Each one of the 13 wounded soldiers also received a check worth PhP 10,000 and a special assistance check worth PhP 100,000.
On November 18, 2016, elements of the 35th Infantry Brigade and two battalions from the 101st Brigade encountered an estimated 150 fully armed rebels from the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) led by Radullan Sahiron at Sitio Dyundangan, Barangay Buhanginan in Patikul, Sulu. Twelve (12) rebels from the ASG were killed during the encounter. ●
