Business Community Top Recommendations to Incoming Administration

The business community has come up with recommendations to the incoming President Rodrigo R. Duterte and his cabinet in conclusion of the business consultation forum held on June 20-21, 2016 in Davao.

The business community aims for the need of a long-term vision for the country. Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) President George T. Barcelon recommendation report says,

Mr. president-elect, the nation needs a vision that all filipinos – here and abroad – can identify with; a mission and masterplan … that we, together, can implement for our children and their children.

The following top ten actionable recommendations of the business community was presented to the incoming president Rodrigo R. Duterte and his cabinet.

1. Comprehensive tax reform.
2. Implementation of National ID system.
3. Streamline and automate government business permits and licensing; and land titling.
4. Improve internet connectivity and telecommunications services .
5. Improve finance, technology, integration, transport, logistics and other support services for agriculture and mariculture industries.
6. Implement responsible and value-added mining.
7. Develop and implement a national strategy for national and regional industrial development.
8. Improve transport networks across the country.
9. Review and improve the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) program.
10. Streamline implementations of Private-Public Partnership (PPP) and infrastructure projects.
