President Met with Peace Panels
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte met with the peace negotiating panels between the Government of the Philippines (GPH) and the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP)/ New People’s Army (NPA)/National Democratic Front (NDF) at the Aguinaldo State Dining Room in Malacañang.
During the meeting, Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Jesus Dureza gave a brief update on the second round of peace talks that would take place in Oslo, Norway on October 2016.
On behalf of the NPA and CPP representatives attending the assembly, NDF chief negotiator Luis Jalandoni thanked the President for his commitment to the peace talks.
In response, President Duterte extended his support for the endeavors of the peace negotiating panels and gave them his well wishes on their trip to Norway.
Also present are Department of Labor and Employment Secretary (DOLE) Secretary Silvestre Bello III, NDF Spokesperson Fidel Agcaoli, panel member Coni Ledesma and consultants Benito Tiamzon with his wife, Wilma Tiamzon. ●
